Let me start by saying I love this bike. It's good to look at, and good to ride. I don't encounter many hills on my everyday commute so I have yet to put the gears to the test, but there seem to be just enough to do the job. The basket is sturdy, and I managed to assemble the whole thing myself in an hour or so. And people keep giving me comments about how nice it looks. So, all in all, I am very positive about this bike.Assembly wasn't difficult, although keeping a picture of the finished bike nearby was useful. The instructions go into great detail about things like the rear drive system (which is already assembled) but are vague and sometimes downright cryptic about the parts you have to install yourself. But, as I say, with a bit of common sense the assembly was straightforward. A spanner and allen keys are provided, but I would probably recommend using your own allen keys (5mm and 6mm) as the ones I got were cheaply made and therefore a) not quite the right size and b) about as soft as old cheddar, and therefore useless for tightening anything. You'll also need a Philips screwdriver for the smaller accessories, which isn't provided. Having assembled the bike, I feel much more confident about how it all works and what goes where, so it was definitely worth doing.When I had assembled the bike I took it to my local bike shop for a once-over to make sure all was well. A couple of days later I had problems with the handlebars, which were not staying upright but shifting around all over the place: pretty annoying while you're trying to ride. I tried tightening the allen screw in the stem but couldn't seem to get it tight enough, despite asking all the strongest people I could find to help! I took it back to the bike shop and they discovered that the thread inside the screw hole in the stem wasn't right and was chewing up the screw rather than tightening it. In the end I had to get a new stem, which cost £9.99. Defects like this are probably the exception rather than the rule - the rest of the bike appears to be of high quality and working perfectly - but probably worth mentioning.All in all I'd say this is a great bike, but there are one or two minor things letting it down, hence the 4 star rating. For a stylish ladies town bike, you'll struggle to find a better one (new, at least!) for this price - believe me, I looked. I should also mention that the delivery was really very fast indeed.

Well in a bid to get fit, forthcoming marriage ,thought would purchase myself some new wheels, does not cost anything to run just leg power, I love this bicycle although it required both my son and my partner to put it together, well I am blonde, screw and nut missing from the mud guard but really looks lovely otherwise, I wanted something robust and the shopping basket on the front is great all in all I would recommed this, hopefully I can still remember how to ride a bicycle

Bought this bike to go out riding with my three kids, one of which would be riding in a seat with me. Delivery was fast, so fast I wasn't in. But problem was solved when the driver rang me and I was able to direct him to a neighbour that took it in, great. There where excellent instruction for the bits already assembled but not for the minor bits. A quick email to y frames with attached photo solved this problem. Went and bought a baby seat and fitted it no problem. Am now sitting in the park on a beautiful evening having ridden here with the kids. They think it is great especially my youngest as mummy did all the pedalling. If there is a downside, the bike is slightly heavy but this is not noticeable when riding even with a 3yr old on the back, it just feels sturdy and safe. It looks great, rides great and bike and seat came to less than £220 even better!! Very very happy mum.
