3Decent bike, but not a racer
By L Tang
Bike is fairly well made, with decent(but entry level) components. Fitting the bike together is a breeze, since all you need to do it put the front wheel on, the pedals on, the saddle on and the handlebars on. The final finished bike is quite heavy for a racer at 15.5kg, which makes it heavier than my hybrid(14.3kg) and the tyres are considerably wider than a normal racer. Thus these in combination with the strange gripshift gear change makes this bike much more of a hybrid with aero bars or a distance cruiser.I would recommend that you own a set of allen keys(ie from a bike multitool), a screwdriver, a pedal wrench and a ratchet set. These will make building and tuning the bike much easier.Things to note when you have finished assembly:-Tighten and centre the brakes.-Tighten the rear wheel spokes(and front if needed).-True the wheels.-Check the bottom bracket is greased.-Check gear shifting. I found my rear derailleur needed more cable tension to shift to all 7 sprockets and my front derailieur needed some finetuning with the H+L screws. The park tool guide will be helpful,[...]-Oil the chain and gears.-Rewrap the handlebars so the brake cable doesn't come out of nowhere.-Check cranks are tightened(with a little oil on the nut). All these things might be second nature to someone who has either serviced or built their own bike before, but a new rider may well skip these steps and end up riding a dangerous bike. If you aren't comfortable with these checks and fixes, take it to a shop and pay the £25-50 to get it properly serviced.Pros:-Solid frame-Cheap-Looks good-Comfortable ride(at least when in the drop position)-Simple assemblyCons:-Allen key for seat post not included-Significant post assembly checks required-Heavy(compared to normal alloy racers)-Incorrect tyres for racer-Uses revoshift gear shifter, so you have to change hand position to change gear, makes it easy to get stuck at a red light in high gear.Overall, I would say that as long as you know what you are buying, this bike is good value, but it would be worth spending an extra £100 to get a lighter bike with a proper gear shift mechanism if you intend to us it for something other than commuting.

The initial tuning can be a little annoying but once is done you can't get a better bike for the price

4Good BUT........
By miss hm davies
OK my first road bike since I was a child . For the price its brilliant 5 stars , sturdy , cheap and not too heavy , minus 1 star I had to go over the bike with a fine tooth comb to make sure was all ship shape. 2 spokes were loose and falling out ' wheels weren't true, had to re wrap handle bars to the brake cable doesn't stick out . Screws on the pedals need tightening and brakes and gears needed adjusting . Now this seems a lot bad but if you ride bikes then you will know how to sort these issues out . The bike its self is great , fast , comfortable good commuter and for a starter bike its excellent. Just needs a look over before committing to the first big down hill
